The ongoing pandemic lockdown, people such as  day-laborers are the worst sufferers of this outbreak. Mpf spoke with a day-laborer here is his story:

"My name is Sadikur Rahman, age 26 and I live in Rameshsor pur Sunamganj. I live with my wife and father who is age 65. My mother passed away."

"Using a manual metal framed pushcart, I transport stock by pushing the cart to different locations; it can take me hours to reach a location, stock weighing 200/300 kg; it's a highly physical and exhausting job."

"I worked 4/5 days a week, earning up to 300/400 taka (£2.50/£3.40) for whole days work. Now, due to strict lockdown, no work is available; Law enforcement does not allow us even to leave our homes."

"I am jobless now. We were not prepared for this situation at all. We have borrowed some money from others. We cannot think about our future and are worried about this so much. How can we survive if the situation goes on like this? Our neighbours are also in the same condition; everyone is tensed about their livelihood. Coronavirus made us poorer and destroyed all of our future."

"We depend on our everyday earning. I don’t have any savings. I hope the lockdown ends soon; It's difficult seeing my wife and father suffering from starvation. An empty stomach does not listen to anything"
