Building a Mosque

A dedicated place to practice and share your faith is so important but within Muslim communities in the developing world, they don't always have this option. A mosque is the heart of any Islamic community, and you can gift this house of Allah (SWT) to those who have no place to congregate and pray with a simple act of Sadaqah Jariyah.

'Whosoever builds a house (masjid) for the pleasure of Allah, whether it be small or large, Allah builds for him a house in Paradise.' [Tirmidhi]

Mosque History

A rural village located in northeast Bangladesh called Sreenath Pur. The first Mosque was built in the early 60's with bamboo and clay.

Just before Bangladesh's independence in 1970, With the support of the Sreenathpur community, the first brick Mosque was built. The bricks were made by hand by the villagers.

During Bangladesh's war for independence, many people came to this Mosque to seek refuge and shelter. This Mosque likely saved many lives.

Over time, the building started to show signs of Deterioration.
The Mosque was partially damaged in the 2004 flood. But in 2022, the Mosque became very weak after the terrible flood. The flood water inside the masjid was 7 feet for 10 days. The masjid was significantly damaged. After four months, the walls of the Mosque started showing cracks. The community assumed an accident could happen at any time.

So, they were forced to demolish the Mosque.

The current temporary Mosque is unstable and made from Bamboo, Steel Sheets and plastic. The wind and rain enter the Mosque, making praying difficult.
Monsoon weather and floods will quickly swipe away this Mosque.

Mosque Plans

The Sreenath Pur community plans to build a two-floor mosque which will hold a minimum of 300 people on each floor.

The Sreenath Pur community has started rebuilding a new mosque and have spent Just under £10,000 on the 3 floor foundation work but has stopped the project due to a lack of funds. They currently need £15000 to complete the house of Allah.

By helping us build a Mosque, you will not only earn the Barakah of providing a community with a house of Allah, but your Sadaqah Jaariyah will continue to benefit for generations to come. Uplift a community with your Sadaqah today, Donate Generously

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The best charity is that given in Ramadan.” (Bukhari and Muslim).
